Teriyaki Chicken is the perfect quick and easy dinner to make. Made with just some ingredients and in just less than 45 minutes, you can have this delicious teriyaki chicken on the table. And because it's made with lean chicken breast and homemade teriyaki sauce, it's a healthier option than buying at the restaurant. This recipe is different from the original teriyaki chicken that uses certain Japanese ingredients, such as shoyu (Japanese-style soy sauce), mirin (sweet rice wine), and sake. For this Teriyaki Chicken, we just need something from what we have in the kitchen. For example, we can replace shoyu with the common soy sauce. For mirin, replace it with sugar and sweet sauce (kecap manis), because mirin has a sweet taste. And lastly, we can replace sake with cooking wine plus a bit of vinegar. Making Teriyaki Chicken, it only requires a few ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen as we said before. The chicken is marinated in a homemade teriyaki sauce made with soy sauce, sugar, sweet sauce (kecap manis), rice vinegar, cooking wine, and garlic. After sauteing the chicken, the remaining marinade sauce should be boiled too, then pour it over the cooked chicken. Serve the Teriyaki Chicken with steamed rice and veggies for a complete meal.
Mix the chicken meat with soy sauce, sweet sauce (kecap manis), cooking wine, chopped garlic, ginger powder, pepper, sugar, and vinegar. Marinate it for 20 minutes.
Heat 3 tbsp of oil, saute the chicken until brown and place it on a plate.
Add 1 tbsp of oil to the pan, then add the remaining chicken marinade. Saute for about 1 minute, when it comes to a boil, turn off the heat and pour over the chicken.
Serve teriyaki chicken with warm rice and other vegetables.
