Easy to cook and delicious Red Soup.

Red Soup is a typical East Java dish, to be precise in the city of Surabaya. This red soup is a modification of Dutch tomato soup. Usually, red soup is served during certain events or when gathering with families. The contents of the red soup include carrots, sausages, ham, Luncheon Meat (non-halal), peas, and fried meatball pieces (optional). This soup has a sweet and sour taste, very delicious, so many people like it. Tomato slices and tomato sauce are the main ingredients that make this soup taste sour, and sweet from sugar.   • 150g chicken, cut lengthwise
  • 1 liter water
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 3 pieces of ham / smoked beef
  • 250 gr Maling / Luncheon meat
  • 2 carrots, cut into rounds
  • 2 tomatoes, cut into small pieces
  • 2 handfuls of peas
  • 4 tbsp of tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp beef powder
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • ½ tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 3 tsp sugar



Saute the onions with butter until fragrant, then remove from heat.

Boil the pieces of chicken breast in water, cook until cooked.

Add ham, Luncheon meat, tomatoes, carrots, ketchup, tomato paste, and all the remaining ingredients. Stir well.
