Easy to cook and delicious Red Chili Chicken.

Red Chili Chicken is a spicy dish that can be found in several regions in Indonesia. Initially the chicken must be fried first, then mixed and cooked with red chili sauce. The meat needed is chicken with bones, it can be chicken thighs / chicken breast / chicken wings. Before the chicken is fried, usually the chicken meat must be marinated first with lime and salt. Furthermore, the main ingredients of this red chili sauce are shallots, garlic, red chilies, and some spices. These spices must be blended and sauteed, until it gives a nice aroma.   • 400g chicken meat
  • 3 tbsp tamarind water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 400 ml water
  • 1 tomato
  • 3 tbsp sweet sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 lemongrass

Mashed Ingredients

  • 8 shallots
  • 4 garlic
  • 10 red chilies
  • 1 tsp galangal
  • 3 candlenuts
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp salt



Marinate the chicken in lime and salt, leave it for 15 minutes.

Fried the chicken with enough oil until browned, remove from heat.

Step 2 of cooking Red Chili Chicken.

Blend all the mashed ingredients, then saute with oil until fragrant.

Step 3 of cooking Red Chili Chicken.

Add water, fried chicken, tomatoes, lemongrass, sweet sauce, sugar, and salt as desired.
