The name "Buldak" literally translates to "fire chicken" in Korean, which accurately describes the dish's fiery and spicy nature. The spicy sauce used to coat the chicken typically consists of a mixture of gochugaru, gochujang, sugar, garlic, ginger, and other seasonings. This sauce is known for its complex flavor profile, combining elements of spiciness, sweetness, and umami. Buldak Chicken is often served with a side of steamed rice to help offset the spiciness.
